Don’t know how I missed this one, but yesterday was the 19th annioversary of the deployment of the Hubble Space Telescope.
To celebrate, NASA released the above image, which shows a trio of galaxies. The top two galaxies are in the process of colliding, while there appears to be a stream of matter connecting the bottom galaxy to the pair above. In fact this third galaxy is behind the other two, and is not connected at all. The arm is made up of new born blue stars.
